Day of Surgery
The day before surgery you should stop using:
- perfume / aftershave
These products as well as debris along the eyelashes may increase the risk of infections during and after surgery.
You should stop wearing contact lenses prior to your surgery. Soft or disposable contacts (dailies, monthly and fortnightly) should be left out for a minimum of 1 week or as advised. Hard contacts should be left out for a minimum of 2 weeks or as advised.
The laser procedure is performed as an outpatient at Ashford Advanced Eye Care and your visit will last approximately 1 hour in total.
Before surgery begins, numbing drops are applied to your eye to alleviate any discomfort during the procedure. You will also be given an oral sedative to help you relax if you feel you need it. You will need to have someone drive you home and bring you back again the next morning.
